Limit Break
The Limit Break is a mechanic allowing the player to strengthen their Friends and Story Cards by increasing their level cap, stats, and unlocking additional Spell Cards in the case of Friends. The requirements for a Limit Break vary depending on the Friend or Story Card's current Limit Break level as well as its quality. Each Friend can undergo a Limit Break up to three times, while a Story Card can undergo four Limit Breaks.
Requirements
Friends
The player can Limit Break a Friend up to three times, with an increasing cost. Before undergoing any Limit Break, Friends can only use two out of five of their Spell Cards. Their max level caps at Level 70, and their Luck stat is always set to 5.
Each Limit Break requires a Friend to have reached a minimum level, an increasing amount of Coins, and a Duplicate of the Friend or a Paper Doll or Disk.

Story Cards
The player can Limit Break a Story Card up to four times, with an increasing cost. Unlike Friends, Limit Breaks for Story Cards only allow the player to enhance them more than six times.

Compatible Items
Limit Break Items cannot be used on any given Friend. Duplicates and Items can be used as follows:
- Duplicates: As evidenced by the name, the player must own two of a same Friend if they wish to use one as a Limit Break material.
- Paper Dolls: These can be used for Prayer and Festival Friends. This applies to all L1 Universe and A-Type Multiverse Friends.
- Divine Paper Dolls: These can be used for Ultra Festival Friends. This applies to a selection of alternate universe Friends.
- Epic Paper Dolls: These can be used for Epic Friends. This applies to all C3 Universe and F1 Universe Friends, as well as Marisa Kirisame (Cz1).
- Jumbo Paper Dolls: These can be used for EX Festival Friends. This applies to Nue Houjuu (A12&) and Eternity Larva (A16&).
- Relic Paper Disks: These can be used for Relic and Genic Friends. This applies to all L80 Universe Friends, as well as Maribel Hearn (LM1) and Renko Usami (LR1).
For the last Limit Break tier, players can mix and match a Duplicate and the appropriate Paper Doll or Disk.
Story Cards can only use duplicates of themselves.
