A type is a category a Friend or Story Card belongs to. There are eight different Friend types and four different Story Card types in the game.

Friend types

A Friend's type affects the distribution of their stats and skills. In Arena Weekly, building a team with the two suggested types will double the strength of a given stat.

Defense

Defense, often shortened to Def, is the first available type. It is associated with Heaven Scrolls. The Defense symbol resembles a teal and cream-colored sky with a darker moon and a star at its center.

Support

Support, often shortened to Supp, is the second available type. It is associated with Earth Scrolls. The Support symbol resembles a brown tree and mountains.

Heal

Heal is the third available type. It is associated with Wind Scrolls. The Heal symbol resembles a green pinwheel.

Debuff

Debuff, often shortened to Dbf, is the fourth available type. It is associated with Cloud Scrolls. The Debuff symbol resembles a black circle containing three cream-colored clouds.

Attack

Attack, often shortened to Atk, is the fifth available type. It is associated with Dragon Scrolls. The Attack symbol resembles a golden eastern dragon.

Technical

Technical, often shortened to Tec, is the sixth available type. It is associated with Tiger Scrolls. The Technical symbol resembles an orange and light yellow tiger.

Speed

Speed, often shortened to Spd, is the seventh available type. It is associated with Phoenix Scrolls. The Speed symbol resembles a phoenix in a light pink to dark pink gradient.

Destroy

Destroy, often shortened to Dest, is the eighth and final available type. It is associated with Serpent Scrolls. The Destroy symbol resembles two red snakes intertwined around what seems to be a stylized shimenawa.

Story Card types

Story Card types are plant-themed.

Plum

The Plum type is the first available Story Card type. It is represented by a pink plum flower surrounded by petals.

Orchid

The Orchid type is the second available Story Card type. It is represented by a purple orchid plant.

Chrysanthemum

The Chrysanthemum type is the third available Story Card type. It is represented by a yellow chrysanthemum and two leaves. This type's name is occasionally shortened to "Chrys.".

Bamboo

The Bamboo type is the fourth and final available Story Card type. It is represented by a green bamboo leaf and two bamboo stalks in a circular shape.
